Research Project: Water Security and Quality in a Changing Arctic (ArcticNET-NCE)
Project Description: This research projects seeks to determine the processes governing the quality and quantity of water in the Niaqunguk (Apex) River watershed. My study will provide knowledge essential for the sustainable use of this freshwater resource. The the city of Iqaluit is currently experiencing significant population growth and considering the Niaqunguk as a potential source of potable water.
Keywords: Permafrost hydrology, river thermal regimes, natural groundwater tracers.
